WAAAGH!!!
and that’s all I have to say about where I’ve been the last few months…
MUWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA…WAAAGH!!!!
I took a nap today… for 1½ hours. I was so tired! I got home from work last night at 11:30. I was too wired to go to sleep right away ( even with not having any caffeine all night! ), so I popped on WoW ( world of warcraft ) and got my BloodElf warlock a level (22) and a new pet ( a succubus… yeah. hehe ). My prim and proper warlock is running around with a half nakie ass slapping whip cracking succubus that currently likes to lash people and sometimes kiss them into submission. haha!
Yep, video games are still teen male oriented
BUT, I like them anyhow
And since similar characters are what I tend to draw, it also makes me some side money doing portraits as well. Anyhow, I got the level and decided at 12:20 am, I had better go to sleep because I had to get up at 7 am to take my friend to work and for me to do some housework - clean the bathrooms and do laundry - before I went to work.
I got all my stuff done and decided a nap was allowed around 10:30 am today. Yippee! Now, I’m trying to wake up enough to function haha. I have to leave for work in about 1½ hours. I probably won’t be home tonight until midnight. We’re giving away another car tonight. Forgot what kind this time, whatever it is, they have 36/48mpg on a big sign next to it. Next week, it’s a Prius. Casino employees and their immediate families/people at their residence are, of course, excluded from ever winning. Darn… cuz I could use a cheaper mode of transportation right now ( I have a big dodge, that costs more than 75$ to fill up each week with the cheapest gas )
Tonight will be crazy. Everyone always thinks they will be the one to win the giveaways. I mean everyone too. From your own the biggest mansion on the beach people, to your living in a shack in the swamp folks. There will be much drinking and smoking. Money lost and won. A few people thrown out. The winner usually ends up being an 85 year old woman that doesn’t even live in the area or show up to the give away! Seriously! When we had our jet ski giveaway, the winner was an 87 year old woman with no grandkids… wtf!
So, I just finished building 2 new computers. Identical systems, from case to monitor, to mouse, to programs installed. Total cost? 1100$ for both systems. 550$ each. YAY newegg and rebates.
Each has: Dual core AMD Athlon 64×2 4000+ processor, Gigabyte m57sli am2 motherboard, bfg tech nvidia 8500gt 512mg video card, 2g corsair xms ram, wireless linksys 300n adapters, 2 samsung light scribe dvd drives, ocz gamxtreme 700w power supply, 1 500g and 1 80g seagate barracuda harddrives, samsung 22 inch wide screen lcd monitor, Saitek glowie blue keyboard, thermaltake bach vx clear sided case, Vista OEM disc…
On one, no problems whatsoever. Runs great. Everything works, is fast, everything installed without an issue, updates worked perfect…
On the other, my god. First 2 1g sticks of dead ram. Then the motherboard croaked. NOW VISTA is being a pain in the ass. I’ve spent 2 days getting it to uninstall the stupid SP1 that it autoinstalled, which caused the system to lock up, BSOD, restart loop, crash, freeze, hang… reformatting and reinstalling the OS didn’t work the 15 times tried.
So I tried something else that I googled up on a tech forum, which at least got the system bootable. Now I’m in the process of installing 57 updates, individually and restarting after each one. GAH! BUT, so far, so good. Only one update crashed out, but I fixed that in a minute and got it to reinstall without any further issues. 26 more updates to go. YAY!
I feel bad for anyone that got a prefab machine and didn’t get an OS disc with it because it’s really needed to fix some issues with Vista when they occur.
Other than Vista’s flakiness between the two computers and constant asking of are you sure, are you really sure, are you positive you want to do this ( which is annoying the hell out of me because YES I KNOW I WANT TO INSTALL nnn PROGRAM! ! ! I CLICKED YES THE FIRST 3 TIMES!!! GODDAMNIT! ), it’s okay. I don’t care for the special effects and visuals, so I turned them off. I want a machine that can handle 3d rendering, photoshop, winamp and games… not look pretty.
Matt, Michael and I are currently sharing the lone copy of “Army of Two” we bought today.
It was a difficult copy to get, I tell ya! No where had it yesterday for us non-preorder people and everywhere we called today, save 1 place, was already sold out by 10 am this morning… except for Gamestop in Slidell - which had 1 (!!!) copy available, that we begged them to hold onto for us until we could get there in 30-ish minutes. Gamestop here in town didn’t have their copies yet since UPS was late! I bet people were stalking the store until it arrived.
It’s very pretty! Crisp graphics and the cut scenes are bee-yoo-tee-full. I didn’t believe the trailers as showing the game graphics as true, but they were. We’ve been playing it since noon ( it’s now 9 pm ). Died lots, of course, while figuring out the controls. But, we’re having fun and that’s all the matters!
